Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut Is Too Much Car for Me – Which Is Exactly Why I Need One Lap. #3 A2W Car Spotlight
Welcome to the third A2W Car Spotlight, where beautiful cars continue arriving and my common sense continues leaving through the nearest available door. The Aston Martin Valhalla made British elegance slightly dangerous. The Lamborghini Revuelto became my future car, with an entire blog now serving as legally questionable evidence of that promise.
Now Sweden has entered the conversation.
Meet the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut – a machine designed for people who looked at ordinary hypercars and asked: “Lovely, but can we make it slightly more terrifying?”
The answer was apparently yes.
I should clarify something immediately. Unlike the Lamborghini Revuelto, I do not think I would buy the Jesko Absolut even if I had enough money. It feels like too much car for me. Too much power, too much speed and far too much responsibility sitting beneath my right foot. Give me the Lamborghini anytime. I would happily take the purple Revuelto, open those dramatic doors and behave as though this had always been a sensible financial decision.
The Jesko Absolut is different. I do not necessarily want to own it. I want to survive it. Ha! Ha!

Koenigsegg created the Absolut to pursue extreme speed. Its 5.0-litre twin-turbo V8 produces 1,280 horsepower on regular fuel and up to 1,600 horsepower on E85. It sends everything through a nine-speed Light Speed Transmission, while the incredibly slippery body achieves a drag coefficient of just 0.278. Koenigsegg describes it as the fastest car the company will ever make.
Very calm. Very reasonable. One thousand six hundred horsepower is not a figure my brain can process normally. That is not an engine asking for permission. That is an engine filing paperwork to separate your soul from your body. The design makes the whole thing even more dramatic. The long tail, covered rear wheels and two fins at the back make it look less like a road car and more like a fighter jet that has temporarily agreed to use tyres. Every surface has been shaped to cut through the air, because at the speeds this car was created to chase, even the atmosphere becomes an opponent.
If I saw a Jesko Absolut on the street, I would stop. Not slow down. Not glance at it politely. Stop. For a few minutes, the world would disappear. Emails, bills, responsibilities and whatever problem had been irritating me that day would become completely irrelevant. I would simply stand there looking at it, trying to understand how something so extreme had ended up sharing a road with buses, hatchbacks and somebody carrying groceries home.
Then it would disappear into the distance, and I would quietly return to my poor little life.
Ahem.
However, there is one experience I genuinely want. One day, I would love to drive a Jesko Absolut on a track. Yes, the Jesko Attack is technically the more track-focused version, with the enormous rear wing and serious downforce. The Absolut was shaped for maximum speed. But please do not interrupt my fantasy with sensible product comparisons. I want an empty circuit, a long straight and somebody from Koenigsegg patiently explaining which button prevents me from accidentally launching myself into another country.
I would approach the car confidently, adjust the seat and tell everyone nearby that I was ready to unleash the beast. The beast would probably look back and ask whether I was qualified.
I promise not to behave like an idiot, and the Jesko promises to return me to the pit lane with the same number of limbs.
Deal?
The Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut is not my dream ownership car. That position still belongs to the Lamborghini Revuelto, and future aKi remains under strict instructions to buy the purple one.
But the Jesko represents another kind of dream. I want one unforgettable afternoon with it. I want to hear that V8, feel the Light Speed Transmission changing gears and discover what happens when a car with 1,600 horsepower decides it is time to become serious.
I may not want the keys forever. Just give them to me for one lap. Possibly two, if the beast and I are still speaking.
Waiting for the day I attempt to tame a Koenigsegg and discover who is actually in charge.
