The Audi Revolut F1 Team’s New Livery for the São Paulo Grand Prix Is Here, and I Think They’ve Done It Again. (Pics)
When I wrote about Audi’s Singapore livery, I said the R26 looked like it had finally opened the curtains. I loved that silver finish with the blue shimmer. Now Audi has gone dark again for São Paulo, and guess who likes this one too? Before you accuse me of liking every F1 car that changes colour, I do have standards. I just happen to think Audi has made the same car look beautiful in two very different ways.
Singapore was the one I wanted to see under the floodlights. With São Paulo, it’s the close-up I want. From a distance, the R26 has that dark, elegant look I associate with Audi. Get a little closer and you start to see the pattern. Revolut designed the livery around Piso Paulista, the geometric pattern you’ll find on São Paulo’s pavements. Now, I live in England. Tell me you’ve based an F1 car on the pavement outside my house and I’m expecting dull and grey. Thankfully for Gabriel Bortoleto, it’s his home race and not mine. Although I do like the sound of a home Grand Prix. LOL, I dream a lot.

Well, that’s my favourite thing about the new Audi livery. You could put a Brazilian flag on the car and even I’d get the reference from my sofa. But imagine being a fan at Interlagos, seeing Gabriel come out of the garage and recognising a pattern you’ve walked over on your way to work. I had to look up what it meant. You’d know it was yours. For a home Grand Prix, I think that’s lovely.

Audi has carried that pattern across Gabriel and Nico Hülkenberg’s race suits, the pit crew’s kit and even the garage. It’s on the adidas Sampa Soul collection too, in forest green with metallic gold details. I already wanted the Singapore cap, and now I fancy this one even more. How many Audi caps can a man own before it gets slightly awkward to explain that he’s cheering for George Russell and Sir Max?
That’s the beauty of F1, right? I can cheer for George and Max, hope Gabriel scores points at home and still want the cap. Who says I have to pick just one?
I think it’s time I finally did something about those Ankit2World livery ratings. Between the two Audis, Singapore still edges it for me. It’s that blue shimmer. Although if Gabriel scores points at home in this one, ask me again on Sunday. I might change my mind.
Honestly, who’s driving, where they finish and whether I want the hat will have absolutely no influence on my ratings.
Audi F1 Team, can I get a hat?
