I think the horror movies are getting worse day by day. Makers are going to any extent to make a horror movie without actually thinking it through. One such example of such desperation is Blumhouse’s Truth or Dare which was released on Apr-13, 2018.
I got a chance to see the movie last night and honestly, I have mixed emotions. First of all the movie is not scary at all. I felt I am watching more of a movie from a Final Destination Series. I was very amazed by the title though but after seeing this movie I felt like a good plot and idea is wasted on bad story and editing. I think this movie idea has all the potential of being good because the theme is connected to almost every person in the world. I am sure; you’ve played truth & dare at least once in a lifetime.
The movie is about some friends who get stuck in the Truth & Dare game which is possessed by a Demon name Calax. The rules are simple ‘You Tell The Truth or You Die – You Do The Dare or You Die – You Don’t Play The Game, You die – You Fail in Game, YOU DIE’. It’s sound interesting, right? Yeah, even I was pretty excited after knowing the plot and watching the trailer. Slowly, one by one these friend starts to die because either way, they fail to perform the dare or die during the dare. The only issue I faced in the movie was that the story was not properly executed. I wanted so much more out of the movie and got utterly disappointed and the funniest thing in the entire movie is the appearance of the devil which seems more like a snapchat filter LOL.
I rate this movie 2.5 out of 5 Stars
