Yet another pre-screening added to my list. Thanks to Star Movies India for inviting me to the #StarMoviesSecretScreening and showcasing Maze Runner: The Death Cure, and it’s my duty to provide my readers with a quick review about the Star Movies Secret Screening event and the movie.
As usual, I got my invitation via Twitter. If you still don’t follow me, please do. My twitter Id is @aki_malik. This is my somewhat 15th secret screening with Star Movies. The invitation lets you bring a friend along. I went there with my buddy Saurabh who is big time designer/artist here’s his Facebook Page: artistsaurabhdey.
It was easy to guess the movie as in the invitation we were asked to find our way to the destination without intersecting the hurdles. Also, when we reached the venue we were asked to play the puzzle and guess what I won. I solved the complete puzzle in just 5 seconds. I also won a Star Movies Goody Bag and a Secret Keeper Mask.
Now let’s start with the ‘Maze Runner: Death Cure’ quick movie review. I will try my best to keep the spoilers at the lowest discloser level possible.
Frankly speaking, I mean writing. I didn’t like the movie. I mean it’s not that bad, we can say it’s average. I am a fan of Maze Runner series but this final instalment somewhat disappointed me. In my view, the movie was bit slow compared to the other earlier instalments. So, my suggestion to all is, don’t keep your hopes high from the MZ: The Death Cure compared to earlier instalments.
Spoiler Alert (Will try to keep it down)
Dylan O’Brien who played ‘Thomas’ is still fighting the WICKED (WCKD) in the movie. ‘Minho’ aka Ki Hong Lee is still under the custody of WCKD and going through different & cruel experiments. ‘Teresa’ played by Kaya Scodelario who turned to the evil side in the last movie is still trying to help the main scientist ‘Ava Paige’ played by Patricia Clarkson and her minion ‘Janson’ played by Aidan Gillen in the movie. Teresa is still in love with Thomas but determined to find the cure thus, she continues to help Ava in almost everything. ‘Newt’ played by Thomas Brodie-Sangster has a pretty good role in the movie, he is also the part of the main climax scene. I loved Newt and his role in the movie. Actions yes, they were pretty dramatic and amazing but according to me, they were shot horribly. I didn’t like the direction as compared to the Maze Runner and Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials.
I suppose rest you’ll see for yourself when the movie hit the theatres on 2-Feb-2018 in India.
I rate the movie 2.5 out of 5 Stars.
Saw it before you
